For the whole world, India has always been a wonder। They surprise to see India’s diversity, cultures, ethnicity and its multielements, all around।Then Why India Survives? This big question is always there. You can give edge to china over India at economic and development front, but when it comes to the people’s rights and fair democracy, we are far better than any other country. We have the dirty practice of politics, that is a roadblock for the development process. We peoples support those spoilers, troublemakers, casticism and opprtunists in our democracy. Despite there odds, Why India Survives? The answer is here, 60% of the 714103070 voters have given the answer to this question. The clear mandate for a stable gov. was a dream for our country, but this time India has voted for stability, governance and development. Voters aspiration of growth has won over marrowness of their imagnination, created by those shrewd politicians. The mandate has given a new space to the youth of india, to give new vision, ideas and faces in politics. After decade of lost opportunity, we have found a new youth leader, We have found a new youth leader, who is now more mature to lead the aspiration of youth India. This young leader is more concerned about youths and rural India , who believes that only youth can change. The fate and face of India. Change is inevitable, when leaders think peoples as only their vote bank, when a party rules foe decades without making any developments and taking peoples for granted, when the politicians mix engineering with politics ( social-Engineering). Then through this democracy, peoples weed out those tactial leaders. These are the same peoples who live on Rs 62/- day, their childrens are malnourished and they have no entilement. But still they vote, a vote for hope, ahope for betterment. And this way, India works. US has an Obama as their change agent, but we have millions of Obamas ( electorates) who go for change, when its needed. For the world this election is a case study, to know Why India Survives.

In the inaugural season Royal Challengers did scarcely anything of note to challenge the derogatory tag of them being a Test side. A year later, despite a new skipper, they are scrapping at the bottom of the heap. Mumbai Mirror caught up with their coach Ray Jennings who, in a freewheeling interview, was extremely vocal about why the youngsters haven’t measured up to expectations. Why is it that so far things have not gone according to plan? We have played only six games. T20 is very marginal, you need a bit of luck and sometimes the best sides don’t win. There are some issues with the batting. There have been five first-ball dismissals and three secondball dismissals, which doesn’t happen in cricket too often but it has happened to us. Our fielding has let us down and hopefully in the next three game we can pull things back and get the momentum going our way. What do you make of the side? Look it is not a partying side. They have worked hard. There is no trouble in the team. The only thing that I am not happy with is the performance part. I hope players are more responsible in the middle. Pietersen (Kevin) playing the switch shot the other day was not ideal, given the team’s position. I haven’t had a problem with KP. At no time I got the impression that he doesn’t care. I just think he made the wrong decision but he should have gone for the switch hit in the 15th over. You need to look at the team and the fact that it’s not batting well. How do you react to the Test tag? Both Kumble (Anil) and Dravid (Rahul) were the highest wicket-taker and the most succcessful batsman respectively at some point in the tournament. Those two players can never be labelled as Test cricketers. If Kumble is a Test player than Shane Warne is one too. What has happened till now is that we haven’t had an international cricketer except Kallis who has gone past 50. I have loaded the batting with international players. Instead of making 60 in the first six overs, we are ending up making 40 and that has put us on the back foot. I don’t think our bowling has been bad except against Chennai. Have the international cricketers let you down? They should be our leaders both in runs and wickets. But here we have a situation where Dravid has been streets ahead of them all. At the start of the tournament he came in as one of the worst T20 batters but he has ended up as our best. How have you been managing some of the young Indian stars? Someone like Virat Kohli sometimes thinks he is better than the game. I need to put him down. He is a very talented player and needs to understand that he has to put performances on the field. If he doesn’t do it, I have to tell him to wake up. The younger Indian guys want more comfort. Some of the guys aren’t mentally tough enough. I keep challenging them. Take something away from Virat if he does something wrong. Kick out of maybe even Jacques Kallis. How are the players taking this? You got to ask them (behind my back) and see what they say (laughs). I am very comfortable where we are. I love the guys I am working with. They know they can’t push me around, they can’t party too much. I have done the right things as far as the cricket is concerned. The boys have prepared well. If I have a hard fielding session or talk tough with someone, I have my reasons and I let them know.

हा, इन्होने कोई पदक नही जीता, कोई बहुत बड़ा कामकरके नही दिखाया है। कोई कर्शिमा भी नही किया। पर सायद फिर इन्होने जो किया, देश के हर युवा को करना चाहिए। पर हम युवा करते नही। बात कर रहे है एक ऐसे युवा की जिसने वोट नही किया। सिर्फ़ इसलिए क्युकी वो भी हजारो युवा की तरह अपने घर हाजीपुर से दूर रांची में पडी कर रहे है। पर उन्होंने जिस तरह अपने नेटवर्क के युवा मतदाताओ को २४ घनते जागरूक किया है। वो कबीले तारीफ़ है। हम या आप शयद सोच कर भी न कर पाये। क्युकी हम इन चीजों पर पैसे खर्च नही करना चाहते। हम अपने दोस्तों को समस के मध्यम से जोक्स भेज सकते है, लव मेस्सेगे भेज सकते है। पर जागरूक नही कर सकते। पर इस युवा नि जिस दिन से चुनावी बिगुल शुरू हुई। इन्होने भी अपना अभियान शुरू किया । आईडिया मोबाइल काम समस पैक ( गौर करे वो फ्री नही था) । सुबह ५ से रात के १२ बजे तक वे वोट करो उ दिसिदे यौर वोट से रेअल्तेद लगभग हजारो मेसेज किए। केवल एक दोस्त को नही। बल्कि अपने नेटवर्क के लगभग हर युवा दोस्त को। वोटिंग डे दिन भी मेरी नींद इनके इन्बोक्स में आए समस से ही खुली। हमारा इन्बोक्स बरता रहा, पर इनका मिशन चलता रहा। आज के वक्त में जब हम युवाओ काम अधिकतर वक्त पैसा मौज मस्ती में बर्बाद होता है। एक युवा है जो किताबो, नेव्स्पपपेर्म, इन्तेराच्शन और सबसे अहम् दुसरो को जागरूक करने में यकीं रक्त है। एक साक्ष मेरे लिए सिर्फ़ खास नही अगर आप भी इनसे मिलना कहते है तो एक बार इस नो। पर तरी करे आप खुद समझ जायेगे। और एक खास बात उन्होंने मुझे अपनी तारीफ़ के पूल बंधने के लिए कोई पैसे नही दिए। मई यह ब्लॉग उनकी मंजूरी के बिना ही लिक रही हूँ। आप सभी युवा दोप्स्तो कोई अगर किसी भी करंट अफेयर्स पर बात करनी हो तो बेझिझक इनसे बात करिए। ये है हेमंत। यू स्पार्क की नज़र में वाकुई स्पार्किंग एंड मोस्ट अवाकेंदे युवा। सो, आर यू इन्तेरेस्तेद तो मीत हिम।

युवा बोला चाहिए इन्टरनेट वोटिंग आप्शन

कल हॉस्टल में हम सभी लड़किया अपना पसंदीदा काम कर रही थी यानी गप्पे लड़ा रही थी। पर अन्य दिनों की अपेक्षा कल हमारा टोपिक फिल्मी गॉसिप नही, वोट था। हा, यानी अब हम छोटे शेरो की लड़किया भी जागरूक हो गई है। जाहिर है, सभी लड़किया इस बात से दुखी थी की वोटिंग के लिए एलेजिब्ले होने के बावजूद वे इन्क्लुडिंग मैवोट नही कर पाई। वजह हमारा वोटर ईद हमरे घर पर है। और हम यहाँ रांची मे। फिर हम वोट कैसे कर पाती । खुसी इस बात की हमारे हॉस्टल की लगभग साडी लड़किया बोगुस वोटिंग के ख़िलाफ़ थी। नो वोटिंग आप्शन एंड नेगेटिव वोटिंग हो। ताकि जिस umeedwaar हम elijible नही samjhte उसे हम नेगेटिव वोट कर सके। सभी अपना वोट करना चाहती थी। तभी हम लड़कियों में एक ने कहा की it शूद be इन्टरनेट वोटिंग ऑप्शन्स फॉर as। आख़िर यूथ वोटर का बार तबका इसी वजह से वोट नही कर पता क्युकी सभी हिघेर स्टडीज के लिए अपने घर से दूर होते है। इस लिए भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त को इन्टरनेट वोटिंग आप्शन रखना ही चाहिए। मुझे भी बात में दम लगा, आकिर जब नेताओ को वेबसाइट के मध्यम से प्रमोशन करने का अधिकार है, वोट मागने का अधिकार है तो फिर वोट करने का आप्शन क्यों नही। सवाल में दम था। सो दुसरे मैंने कमीशन की साईट सर्च की। साथ ही अपने सीनियर से बात हुई। उन्होंने बतया की घुमाकर मतदाताओ के लिए कोई न कोई प्रवधान जरूर होगा। साईट सर्च करो। फिलहाल मे इस सवाल का जवाब धुन्धने में असफल हूँ। पर कोशिश जारी है। इस चुनावी गपसप में एक और मुद्दा निकलकर सामने आया की हम वोट दे किसे। सबकोरक् ओबमा पसंद है वरुण गाँधी नही। सबनेइस बात पर सहमती थी की बराक ओबमा नि अपने भासन से ही वहां के लोगो को प्रभवित किया था। क्युकी उनके भासन में विकास की किरण नज़र आ रही थी। पर हमारे भारत में अब भी युवा नेता अपने बगल के सिट पर बैठे मुस्लिम को नफरत की नज़र से ही देखते है। क्यों। हमारे ही बीच एक लड़की नि कहा की मे मानती हूँ की हिंदुस्तान का मतलब हिंदू होना चैहिये.हम सभी लड़किया उस लड़की को ध्यान से देखने लगी। की क्या होगा हमारे युवा भारत का, जहाँ युवा ऐसी बर्कू सोच रखेगा। उम्मीद और कोशिश तो यह हो की हम युवा खुद में किसी वरुण या मायावती को जन्म न दे। फुट न डाले, और हा, मुस्लिम मतलब आतकवादी, जैसे सोच को निकल बहार फेके। बात सयद गुप्सुप की तरह ही चल रही थी। पर चाय की चुस्कियों के बीच कुछ अहम् और गंभीर सवाल निक्कालकर सामने आए जिसे हम नजरंदाज़ नही कर सकते। नही तो सयद इस बार की तरह हम युवा आनेवाले पीरी को अगले चुनाव तक भारत में किसी ओबमा को जन्म देने के लिए प्रेरित नही कर पायेगे। हा, ये सच है १६वि लोकसाभाचुनाव यानी अगली चुनाव में हम में से कई युवाओ की शादी हो जायेगी, कई युवा श्रेणी से बहार हो जायेगे। हमने इस बार जो मौका खोया, अगली बार वही सबने कुछ हम युवाओ की अगली श्रेणी के लिए नही होने देंगे। ऐसा अभी से सोचना शुरू करना होगा, तभी हम अगली चुनाव में युवा साँस ले पायेगे। तब तक के लिए इन आप सो न जाए सोचे। क्युकी वो सुबह कभी तो आएगी जब अम्बर झूम के नाचेगा और धरती नगमे जायेगी।

जनता का हल्ला बोल : युवा नेता इन, ओल्ड इज नोट GOLD

उमर ने ऐलान किया है की अब उनका निवास हरिनिवास सरकार की आया का अत्रिकित साधन होगा। निशित्तौर पर होने के बावजूद उन्होंने जब यह निर्णय लिया है, तो काफी सोच समझकर लिया होगा। खुशी इस बात की, की उन्होंने युवा की तरह सोचा। हाल में ही ख़बर आई थी की राहुल गाँधी नि चुनावी रैली के लिए खास तौर से कई लाख करने के बाद रथ तैयार कार्य है। हलाकि बाद में संचार का खंडन किया गया। राहुल गाँधी इन दिनों जनता के बीच आम इंसान की तरह मिल रहे हैऐसे में अगर वे वाकुई लाखो की गारी में जाते तो युवा नेता की ग़लत चावी बनती पर , थोरा ही सही मगर युवा नेता जनता की नजरो में ख़ुद के लिए एक अलग चावी बनने में सफल हो रहे है। राहुल जब चुनावी रैली के दौरान पुरुलिया गए। वह की जनता ने उनका तहे दिल से स्वागत किया। अब तक राहुल या प्रियंका गाँधी जैसे युवा नेताओ को जुटे चपल मारे जाने की कोई ख़बर नही आई है। साफ़ जाहिर है की युवा नेताओ को रियल हीरो के रूप में देख रहेहै हमारी जनता। पर अफ़सोस इस बार लोकसभा चुनाव में उनके पास युवा नेताओ को वोट करने के विकल्प मौजूद नही थे। मतदाताओं में भले ही बुजुर्ग मतदाताओ का प्रतिशत ज्यादा रहा हो। पर हमें कभी नही भूलना चैये की ओल्ड आगे को भी जवान बेटे के सहारे की जरूरत परती है।

आबादी ४० फीसदी मगर भागीदारी महज १५ फीसदी...

बात अगर हमारे भारत की हो तो यहां खेल , बिजनेस, फिल्मी सितारें और रियलिटी शोज में भाग लेने वालों की एक लम्बी फेहरिसत है. मगर हर रोज प्रशासन को कोसने और नेताओं को गली देने वाले यंगिस्तान के युवा इस बात से खुद को दूर ही रखना चाहते हैं कि भारतीय राजनीति में उनकी भी भागीदारी होनी चाहिए. भारत में जहां के 40फीसदी आबदी युवाओं को समर्पित है और इसी कारन इसे यंगिस्तान की की पदवी से नवाजा गया है, में सबसे बड़ी बिडंबना है कि यहां की लोकसभा और राज्यसभा में केवल उम्रदराजों की ही संख्या बढ़ती जा रही है। उदाहरण्ा के तौर पर जहां पहले लोक सभा में चुने गये सांसदों की उम्र 46 वर्ष के करीब थी वहीं इसके बाद तो मानों जैसे इनकी उम्र में इजाफा होने का बढ़ता ही गया. अरे हमारे पार्लियामेन्ट में तो ऐसे भी सांसद चुने गये हैं जिनकी उम्र 60 साल के करीब है. अब आप ही बताइये कब्र में पांव लटकाए ऐसे सांसदों से आप किस तरह के बदलाव की उम्मीद करते हैं. फिर भी उम्र को हम कोई तवज्जो नहीं देते अगर नेता दिल से जवां और अनुभवी हो. और लोक सभा व राजयसभा जैसी जगहों पर तो अनुभवी लोगों की ही मांग होती है इसलिए कुछ देर के लिए ये भी मान लेते हैं कि आप का उम्रदराज व्यक्ति चुनना ठीक है. कुछ लोगों का यह भी मानना है कि युवाओं को राजनीति के पचड़े में पड़ना गंवारा नहीं. युवा किसी राजनीतिक मुद्दे या बहस में पड़ने को एक खतरा मोल लेना समझते हैं. पहले लोक सभा में जहां 112 उम्मीदवारों में 40 युवा थे वहीं दूसरी में इनकी संख्या 151 तीसरी में 78 और 14वीं तक आते-आते यह 35 युवा लोगों तक सिमट गयी. आप खुद सोचिए 543 सीटों के पर मात्र 35 युवा उम्मीदवार। और खोज एक यंग राजनीति की. ये महज एक कोरी कल्पना नहीं तो और क्या है. जहां आप(युवा वर्ग) खुद को आगे नहीं लाना चाहते वहां और किस तरह की साफ-सुथरी और भ्रस्ताचार मुक्त शासन की अपेक्षा कर सकते हैं.

Youth - that’s what seems to be motivating every party’s campaign. With popular film songs, Rahman’s Jai Ho! anthem or the internet, every party is trying to lure youngsters into voting by using tools familiar to them.
Most Congress leaders are downloading the campaign song Jai Ho! as their caller tunes. The tune is the same, but the lyrics have been tweaked to emphasise changes the party has brought in the past five years of governance. Also, there’s a one-minute campaign on YouTube, and the visitors on the website are increasing everyday.
While the Congress is trying to capture voters through its Jai Ho! catchphrase, the BJP is also singing a merry tune. It’s gone a step ahead and created a parody of it. It’s called Bhay Ho (let fear prevail!). As per reports, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches are being set to Gujarati folk tunes and being offered as ringtones to mobile subscribers.
The IT cell of the Gujarat unit of the BJP has been busy choosing the right folk tune to match the excerpts being selected from Modi’s speeches before making them available in the ‘download section’ of the party’s Gujarat unit website.
Apart from popular-song campaigns, there are a lot of politicians who are even carrying a tune to strike the right chord with voters. The Congress candidate from the Jalpaiguri seat in West Bengal is wooing voters with the traditional Bengali folk music form of Bhawaiya, as per agency reports.
The Election Commission’s ‘Pappu can’t vote’ campaign, a spin-off from the song ‘Pappu can’t dance’ from the film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, during last year’s assembly elections generated a lot of interest. After its successful ‘Pappu’ campaign to attract voters during the Delhi assembly elections last year, the Election Commission was planning another catchy campaign to woo the voters using the song
‘Socha nahin to Socho abhi’ from Rock On! but it proved to be an expensive deal (cost almost Rs 25 lakh).
Thus, it has now opted for the song ‘Dance pe chance mar le’ from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, said Delhi chief electoral officer Satbir Silas Bedi. Instead of the original lyrics, the song will now go as ‘Pappu vote dal le’ to stick to the Pappu campaign.
Though the last day for voter registration is over, before the first phase of the Indian Political League, the campaign from the EC was out.

We conducted a survey among people in the age group of 18 to 25 to see what were the issues that were most important to them in an Election. This is what we found out:
24% give attention to Infrastructure,social and institutional development. 21% were concerned about Terrorism and security 16% placed the Economy at the top of the list 8% would vote based on the secular and communal agenda of parties alike. The remaining believed all were important to list in order of preference. The survey was conducted in September 2008. No doubts the events after that would have changed people's priorities, but what are the issues that concern the youth? On what basis do the youth vote? is the pattern same for State elections and General Elections?
Development, no doubt plays the most important role in State elections. How else would one explain Sheila Dikshit being elected for the third time in Delhi, Narendra Modi in Gujarat and Shivraj Chauhan in madhya Pradesh? While overall development is a central issue, the provision of water, electricity, roads, bridges , public transport all lie with the state. The youth today want to see development, they want to see their lives getting better, they want to see traffic moving smoothly, they want to have electricity and water 24/7.
It is not ideologies that matter, or basic mudslinging that political parties love indulging in. It is the on ground improvement in their lives that matters the most. This is an issue that plays out at a state and central level elections. The events of 26 November, 2008 changed an entire perception of how we viewed our security. The most up market places were attacked, giving everyone the notion that no place, including your house is safe. For the first time we saw crowds coming out in large numbers and venting anger against politicians, united.
But can this anger translate into a vote? This is yet to be seen. While terrorism would be a national issue, security especially in the city would be a state issue. Murder, theft, rape and molestation are all crimes investigated by the state police. The state of security in the city, especially for women is a one of the factors that would have an impact on how we would vote. Most of us use public transport - bus,metro,local train, taxi,auto. Bombs have been placed in buses,taxis and autos. The metro has additional security, which inspite of checking, seems rather lapse at times. We need to be safe no matter where we are, in markets, on public transport or in our own homes. Anyone who can give us security seems to be a preferred choice.
With the global economic downturn, and the liquidity crises, it has hit the youth in a major way. College placements and the offer packages have been hit severely. The pay packages have reduced and the jobs available are much lesser in comparison to last year, if not available at all. Many college fests faced a shortage of funds, due to lack of sponsorships. Those organizing fests have had a harrowing time finding sponsors with almost every prospective sponsor having no money .
The state of economy is no doubt one of the most important issues, if not the most at this point of time. Very few pay attention to ideologies of political parties. But ultimately our personal views tend to be similar to those of a party. The way we vote also depends upon our beliefs,convictions and biases. Do we want a secular government? A right wing government or left wing? Even these factors influence our vote, acting as a bias at times. These are a few issues that concern the youth. Campaigns urge youth to wake up and vote for honest leaders

Such programmes have been launched in the past but NGOs say the response this time has been better than एवर

New Delhi: Campaigns that are aimed at goading reluctant Indian voters to exercise their fundamental right are increasingly gaining in popularity, giving rise to hope that the turnout in this general election could see a significant rise from the 58% recorded in the 2004 polls.
Such well-organized campaigns are focusing largely on new voters. In the past five years, the number of voters has risen by 43 million to 714 million from 671 million.

The voter awareness campaigns are focusing largely on the 43 million new voters added across India in the last five years. PTISome such prominent campaigns are Jaago Re! (wake up), Lead India, VoteIndia, Let’s Vote, as well as a voter awareness campaign by the Association for Democratic Reforms, or ADR, a non-governmental organization (NGO).
The ADR campaign, “Sachche ko Chune, Achche ko Chune” (vote for the honest, vote for good people), was launched earlier this month. The campaign, which comprises three ad films, print advertisements, Internet and mobile phone messages, is being supported by actor Aamir Khan. The ads have been made by the actor’s production company, Aamir Khan Productions Pvt. Ltd, free of cost.
“ADR is attempting to get the youth involved as much as possible. Most of our volunteers are youngsters,” says Jagdeep Chhokar, a founder-member of ADR. “Aamir Khan himself offered to do that campaign, and we gladly accepted it. Now these films are being aired on all TV channels and FM radio stations. They were all, in fact, made free of cost. The Election Commission also has them on its website...the idea is to influence people to come and vote, and vote intelligently and carefully.”
The youth are being targeted because their number has increased.

“We also have an SMS campaign where you can send in a text with your zip code and you would get the latest information about your constituency—the candidate, etc... All this is also being provided free of cost by all service providers...these are our sustained initiatives till elections get over.”
Another campaign gaining in popularity is Jaago Re! One Billion Votes, which claims to be “a non-profit, non-partisan campaign”. One of the first campaigns to be launched, Jaago Re! is unique because it marks the coming together of an NGO and a corporate house—Janaagraha and Tata Tea Ltd.
Launched in September, before the six assembly elections late last year, the campaign facilitates voter registration apart from spreading awareness through its ad films splashed across TV channels.
For Janaagraha, the idea came up when it decided to check the voters’ list at a constituency in Bangalore and found an error rate of up to 60%. It then decided to take up the issue of voter registration, with special emphasis on youth.

I read an article in the paper today describing the end of an era, describing how a number of senior old-school statesman would not be featuring in the race to the Lok Sabha this time around. In fact, in the run up to Elections 2009, political parties across the country have focused on trying to bring down the average age of their candidates in an attempt to project their party as having a more youthful portfolio. It probably stems from the fact that the role and presence of young politicians in the arena have been more than highlighted in recent months, that in itself the result of a general consensus going around that the youth can relate better with young politicians. With so much attention therefore focused on a very young demography of the polity, it raises the interesting question - How did the significance of the ‘youth vote' stand prior to 26/11 ( For I am inclined to believe that much of the hype regarding the ‘youth vote' emerged only after the 26/11 terror attacks )? But, that raises other questions - Is the ‘youth vote' really that significant in terms of absolute numbers? And, in that light, should political parties be focusing on the much hyped ‘youth vote'?
I took part in an initiative of a student organization based here in Delhi to encourage young people to come out and vote. As part of our voter registration drive, we compassed numerous colleges of Delhi University and proceeded to set up registration desks at various public places in our attempt to reach out to the youth. The result, again in terms of absolute numbers, by the end, was heartening. However, I must mention that it was not easy.
As part of an initial survey that we conducted with our target audience, we asked them- "What does your vote want? Action on which pertinent issue would convince you to vote for a particular party? Have you voted earlier and if not, why so?" And out of the lot of the people who took the pain to fill out our survey sheets, an astounding 45% of them responded that they simply couldn't care less.
In the course of the registration drive itself, I was to find that a fair portion of the people we'd end up registering would just so happen to be friends to our friends and I do wonder if they would have registered otherwise. Also, one particularly distasteful experience comes to mind which I must retell. It was this occasion when I made an impassioned appeal to a group of 4 people that I came across in a college. I requested them to come by our desk and register themselves arguing that it was about time that the youth took charge and had a greater say in who should be running our government. In all the time that it took me to spill my guts out, they didn't say much at all. I couldn't read their reactions either. And I walked away not knowing what to expect. Would they turn up? Would my sincere yet brief appeal be enough to overthrow 18 years of home-bred conviction that the issue was not relevant to them at all? And to my greatest delight, it was. Minutes later, all 4 of them came by our desk looking to register themselves. They were then informed that for the purposes of submitting residential proof they would have to get a Letter of Declaration signed by their Principle verifying their current place of residence, a minor but necessary formality. And surprise-surprise , all 4 of them turned around and walked away! They thought that all they had to do was a fill out a form and be done with it!! You can imagine my shock that all it took was the burden of writing one measly little letter to convince them to turn their backs on us and on the issue. Does that not make it that much more difficult to imagine the youth taking time out of their lives to come out on a scorching summer day and to wait in line just so that they can vote?
And this leads me to my greatest objection with this entire farce, I say that I find it repulsive to hear others say that the 26/11 attacks have helped foster a new wave of patriotism in our country. And this is because of the simple fact that i do not see such high talk being matched by concrete action. As Indians, we have always inherently found it easier to talk rather than do and I see this following the same progression. We managed to register 3000 and I repeat only 3000 students from the whole of Delhi University and it was not due to a shortage of resources, effort or outreach! My disgust at such a hypocritical show of patriotism, where love for one's country is only about the talking, knows no bounds and I would even go so far as to suggest that if the 26/11 attacks had inspired more terror than it did such ‘patriotism' then it would have done our country far more good as I have seriously begun to ponder that terror may in fact be the better motivator of the two...
...But my patriotism deceives me yet again. My patriotism tells me that even this 3000 is enough. My patriotism tells me that even this is an improvement, a step forward, perhaps the most critical step yet... perhaps the first baby steps taken by a new generation of Indian Youth in its march to redeem our politics, our systems of governance and in turn, our country.

आम आदमी के लिए कहा है रांची में सिनेमा घर

विकास के नाम पर पुराने सिनेमाघर बंद किया जाना उचित नहीं

आइलेक्स की टिकट दरें आम आदमी की बजट से बाहर।

आम आदमी नहीं है आइlex का दर्शक वर्ग।

चाहे तो सिनेमाघरों की बिगड़ी छवि फिर से सुधर सकती है
पहले रतन, फिर विष्णु, उपहार और अब संध्या. रांची के लगभग ये सभी सिनेमा घर इतिहास के पन्नों में सिमट चुके हैं. मिनाक्षी भी अब उसी कगार पर है. यानी आम आदमियों के लिए अब रांची में सिनेमाघरों नामात्र के बच गये हैं. डेढ़ साल पहले रांची में मल्टीप्लेक्स का कंसेप्ट आया और आइलेक्स के रूप में रांची का पहला मल्टीप्लेक्स शुरू हुआ. इसके बाद मिनी सुजाता ने अपना रंग-रूप बदla और खुद को मिनीप्लेक्स में तब्दील कर डाला.. मेट्रो की तर्ज पर नये कॉम्पलेक्स व मल्टीपलेक्स की शुरुआत एक सकारात्मक पहल है. पर उसके एवज में आम आदमियों से उनके मनोरंजन का साधन छीना जाना कहां तक उचित है. गौरतlब है कि रांची में ऐसे भी मनोरंजन के साधन बहुत सीमित हैं. हर शुक्रवार नयी फिल्म की रिलीज़ के साथ ही आम आदमियों की इच्छा भी जागती है कि वे नयी फिल्में देखें और अपना मनोरंजन करे. पर धीरे-धीरे सिनेमाघर में फिल्में देखना उनके बजट से बाहर हो रहा है. रिक्शाचाlक, आटोचाlक व झुग्गी झोपड़ी व सड़कों व फुटपाथों पर काम करनेवाला वर्ग फिल्मों का एक बड़ा दर्शक वर्ग है. पर शायद, रांची के सिनेमाघर के मालिक इस बात को भूल गये हैं या फिर वे इस बात को tawazoo ही नहीं देना चाहते. तभी तो सामान्य दर की टिकट पर फिल्में दिखानेवाले सभी सिनेमाघर बंद हो चुके हैं या बंद होने के कगार पर हैं. विकास करना बुरा नहीं. पर उसके एवज में पुरानी धरोहरों को खत्म किया जाना कहां तक उचित, यह कह पाना मुश्किलोन है. आइलेक्स के टिकट की दरें आम आदमी की पहुंच से बाहर हैं. रियर स्टॉलोन में फिल्मों का आनंद उठानेवाले ये वर्ग पिछले कई वर्षों से सिनेमाघर के बंद होने की मार झेल रहे हैं. रांची का पहला सिनेमा घर वर्ष 1924 में बनवाया गया था. इसे छगनलाल सरावगी ने बनवाया था. बाद में इस सिनेमा घर को रांची के मजिस्त्रते kamal किशोर विश्वास ने खरीद गिया। बाद में इसका नाम बदल कर माया महल रखा दया. शचींद्रनाथ गांगुली ने बाद में इस हॉल का नाम बदल कर रूपा श्री रख दिया. रतन टॉकीज के स्थान पर पहले गुल सिनेमा हुआ करता था. वर्ष 1937 में इसका नाम बदल कर रतन टॉकीज किया दया. गांगुली परिवार के अधीन उस वक्त रांची के तीन सिनेमा घर थे. रतन टॉकीज, रूपा श्री व प्लाजा सिनेमा. प्लाजा में बंगला रतन में हिंदी व रूपा श्री में अंगरेजी फिल्में दिखाई जाती थीं. जो प्लाजा आज पूरी तरह उपेक्षित हो चुका है व केवल अश्लील फिल्मों के लिए जाना जाता है, कभी वहां लालपुर , बर्दवान कंपाउंड, सिर्कुलर रोड, पीएन बोस कमंपाउंड, हजारीबाग रोड, पीस रोड के निवासी दर्शक हुआ करते थे. पांचवे दशक के मध्य तक लोग सिनेमा देखना अच्छा नहीं मानते थे. रतन टॉकीज के बाद श्रीविष्णु टॉकीज की शुरुआत हुई जो अधिक दिनों तक नहीं चl पायी. वर्ष 1972 में दर्शकों को वातानुकूlit सिनेमा घर की प्रतीक्षा थी, जिसमें अधिक से अधिक सुविधाएं चाहिए थी. संध्या सिनेमा ने इसकी पूर्ति की. पर अब संध्या सिनेमा की टूटी फुटी इमारते ही अस्तित्व में रह गयीं और बहुत जल्द वह भी खत्म हो जायेगी. रांची के सिनेमा घरों की सबसे बड़ी त्रासदी यह रही कि यहां के संचाlaकों ने कभी यहां की साफ-सफाई या दर्शकों की पसंद व उनके आराम का ख्याल नहीं रखा. यहां तक की हॉल के सीटों की भी बदतर स्थिति है. माहौल तो पूरी तरह बदl चुका है. अब यहां रंगदारों का जमावड़ा अधिक हो गया है. जगह-जगह पर सिनेमा हॉl के दीवारों पर थूकना, शौचालाया में गंदगी, सीट पर गंदगी यहां के सिनेमा घर के स्तर को दर्शाते हैं. इन सिनेमाघरों के परदे व साउंड क्वालिटी भी बदतर है. संध्या, उपहार, मिनाक्षी व plaza सिनेमाघर कुछ ऐसे ही उदाहरण है. स्थिति को सुधारने की बजाय lagaतार सामान्य सिनेमाघरों को बंद किया जाना आम आदमी से उनके मनोरंजन छीना जाना है. इस संदर्भ में सुजाता व मिनी सुजाता ने खुद के स्वरूप बदlने व गुणवता को सुधारने में सकारात्मक पहb भी किये हैं. पर अब भी सीट व वहां की व्यवस्था रंगदारों के हाथों में होने के कारण bचर ही है. समय रहते रांची के सिनेमाघरों की स्थिति को सुधारना जरूरी है न की उन्हें बंद किया जाना, ताकि आम आदमी भी तनाव से मुक्त होने के bिए कम से कम अपने बजट में फिŸल्में देख पायें. साथ ही सिनेमाघरों की बिगड़ी छवि को सुधारने में भी पहb करने की जरूरत है. अगर कोशिश की जाये तो हम प्bाजा सिनेमाहॉb की खोयी छवि को उसे वापस bौटा सकते हैं. ढंगरा टोbी स्थित संध्या सिनेमा हॉb को टूटते देख आम आदमियों की एक टोbी की कुछ ऐसी ही मनसा थी. यहां तक की कॉbेज के कई छात्र-छात्राओं के bिए संध्या सबसे नजदीकी सिनेमाघर था, जहां आसानी से फिŸल्में देखी जा सकती थी. जरूरत है मनोरंजन के इन साधनों को संजोने की, न कि उन्हें सूbी पर चढ़ा कर नयी व आकर्षक इमारत खड़ा करने का. एक ऐसा इमारत जहां टिकट काउंटर पर bंबी कतार तो नजर आये, पर उसमें आम वर्ग के दर्शक नहीं.

झोपड़ी में रहनेवाले अपने बेहतर भविष्य के लिए अंगरेजी भाषा का ज्ञान प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं. फिल्ममेकर प्रेरणा सिद्धार्थ इस ओर सार्थक कदम उठा रही हैं. 19 वर्षीय प्रेरणा सिद्धार्थ झारखंड की सबसे युवा महिला उद्यमी हैं. प्रज्ञा एडुकॉम की एमडी प्रेरणा मूल रूप से फिल्ममेकर हैं और अपनी फिल्मों के माध्यम से वह झारखंड के ग्रामीण इलाको में शिक्षा की रोशनी फैलाना चाहती हैं. एनजीओ भारत शोध व प्रज्ञा एडुकॉम वीडियो के संयुक्त प्रयास से गांवों में अंगरेजी भाषा की शुरुआत की जा रही है. प्रेरणा का मानना है कि गांवों के कई इलाको में कंप्यूटर उपलब्ध नहीं न सही. पर वे फिल्में जरूर देखते हैं. और फिल्मों से जल्दी सिखने का प्रयास करते हैं। यही वजह है कि मैंने इस माध्यम को चुना. ए वीडियो बुक सिरीज आन लर्न इंग्लिश बाय फन जो इनके पिता आइपीएस पीके सिद्धार्थ ने likhi है, इसके माध्यम से कब्ड्डी, गिल्ली डंडा व स्थानीय खेलों के माध्यम से भाषा की बारीकियों को दर्शाया व सिखाया जायेगा. ये वीडियो प्रोग्राम हिंदी के साथ-साथ नागपुरी, संथाली व अन्य स्थानीय भाषाओं में भी होगा, ताकि झारखंड के ज्यादा से ज्यादा इससे laभान्वित हो पायें। इस प्रोग्राम के माध्यम से प्रेना ग्रामीणों को मुख्यधारा से जोड़ने का तो प्रयास कर ही रही है. साथ ही वह अपने इस विजन में भी स्पस्ट है कि वह अंग्रेजी भाषा का ज्ञान देना चाहती है न कि उन्हें अंगरेज बनाना चाहती है. प्रोग्राम के प्रचार में मुख्य रूप से इस बात पर केंद्रित किया जा रहा है कि जब तक हम आप, हम सभी मातृभाषा का सम्मान नहीं करते, अंगरेजी या किसी अन्य भाषा को जानने का कोई फायदा नहीं. आने वाले दौर में अंगरेजी का ज्ञान न होने के कारण ये उज्वल भविष्य से अछूते न रह जायें. इसलिए यह शुरुआत की गयी है. इस वीडियो प्रोग्राम को स्थानीय थियेटरों व कैंपेन के द्वारा लोगों तक पहुंचाया जायेगा. प्रेरणा रांची की रहनेवाली है. इनकी प्राथमिक शिक्षा रांची से ही पूरी हुई है. इन्होंने एशियन स्कूल आफ फिल्म एंड टेलिविज़न -नोयेडा से डायरेक्शन का कोर्स पूरा किया. सारेगामापा के लिए इन्होंने एल्बम अंडरग्राउंड दिलीई का निर्माण भी किया. प्रेरणा का चयन सारेगामा डायरेक्टर सर्च में छह फिल्म निर्देशकों में भी हुआ है. पर वह मुख्य रूप से झारखंड में ही काम करना चाहती हैं. उनका मानना है कि झारखंड में कला -संस्कृति, सभ्यता व पर्यटन की अपार संभावनाएं हैं, जिन्हें विजुअलोन मीडियम के माध्यम से और ख़ूबसूरत बनाया जा सकता रूप दिया जा सकता है. साथ ही यहां ग्रामीण जो muflisi के कारण पढ़ नहीं पाते, उन्हें शिक्षित करना जरूरी है, क्योंकि उनमें बेहतरीन प्रतिभा छुपी हुई है. उनके दर्शाना होगा और विजुअलोन से आसान माध्यम और कुछ नहीं हो सकता. भविष्य में वे ऐसे ही ग्रामीण विकास पर आधारित प्रोजेक्ट्स पर काम करना चाहती हैं.
